The KCCADV holds Membership Meetings once a month to provide a space for members to keep up with what the Coalition is doing and learn new information about a range of topics that help us improve domestic violence services and stay connected.
Held on the third Friday of the month at the E. Cherry YWCA (2820 E. Cherry St., Seattle, WA 98122) unless otherwise specified, this meeting is a great place to network with other domestic violence service providers and learn new information. Check back often to see what’s happening at future meetings.

Pomegranate Connection: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in Turkey
Dr. Leyla Welkin will focus on the specific lessons that she has gained from her work in Turkey. In particular, Leyla will discuss the way that working in Turkey has impressed upon her the importance of working effectively in a systemic way with families and realizing a coordinated system of services. The stages of the development of services here have unfolded differently than what she saw in the US. Turkey is organized differently. The commitment here to family and supporting families provides some valuable lessons.
